Where is Hedenstugan Bed and Breakfast located?
Hedenstugan is situated in Bergby, about 200 kilometers north of Stockholm. Bergby is located in the northern part of Gästrikland close to the Baltic sea coastline, surrounded by forests and numerous lakes. The perfect location to discover different regions in Mid-Sweden: Gästrikland and Hälsingland.
How do I get there
Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) is the most obvious airport as it is connected to the railnetwork allowing you to travel to the other regions in Sweden. From Bromma (BMA) or Skavsta (NYO) you will need to travel by bus (Flygbussarna) to Stockholm Central Station. From Stockholm Arlanda or Stockholm Central Station you have frequent train connections to Gävle, the nearest station. Some of the train connections are direct, some connections require a change in Uppsala. Trains should always be booked and paid upfront. This can be done on the website of the national railway company. From Gävle station, you can book a taxi to drive you to Bergby , take bus 25 with direction Norrsundet to busstop Bergby centrum or arrange transport through Hedenstugan. You can also rent a car at the different airports. Traveling by car from the European continent, you follow the E4 highway via Malmö, Helsingborg to Stockholm and Sundsvall. Take the exit “Axmartavlan” and drive straight ahead towards Hedenstugan, just following the traffic signs.
Check in/out
Check-in is 16.00 on the day of arrival. Check-out is 11.00 on the day of departure. Early arrival and late check out maybe arranged in prior consultation with us. We will do all we can to facilitate our guests in this respect.
Parking
Free parking is available at the hotel. We also have 3 charging posts for electric cars, type 2 sockets. Payment via Monta app.
Breakfast
Breakfast is normally served from 08.00 to 10.00. Early breakfast maybe arranged in prior consultation with us. We will do all we can to facilitate our guests in this respect.
Internet
Fast WiFi is available at no charge throughout the hotel.
Smoking
Hedenstugan is a non-smoking hotel and offers non-smoking accommodation in accordance with Swedish regulations.
A fee of SEK 1500,00 is charged for cleaning a room in case of smoking.
Damage to hotel property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate or negligent or reckless or accidental or willful act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum. In severe cases the guest will be liable for any loss of revenue that the hotel suffers while the room is being repaired.
Removal of hotel property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by them without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guests credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.
Tampering with fire detection systems and fire fighting equipment
We reserve the right to take action against any guest found to have tampered / interfered with any fire detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas and bedrooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and additionally may be asked to leave the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that fire fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guests credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.
Inappropriate behaviour
It is the hotel’s policy that all our guests have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and as a responsible host we believe that we have a duty to our guests to protect them from inappropriate behaviour. Should any actions by a guest be deemed inappropriate by the Duty Manager, or if any inappropriate behaviour is brought to the attention of the Duty Manager, the hotel reserves the right, after any allegations have been investigated, to take action against the guest. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, the Police may become involved at the hotel’s discretion, or guests may be asked to leave the hotel.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in the hotel premises.
Wheelchair acces
The front hotel entrance, the restaurant and one family rooms has wheelchair-friendly access.
Restaurant
Breakfast is always served for our guests and currently we serve pre-booked dinner only for our guests,. Please notify us of any allergies or restrictions, so that we can do our best to facilitate you in that way. On request or with special occasions we can arrange a great fish buffet or fish plates including different types of local products.
In the restaurant and in the garden (restricted areas) guests can also enjoy alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic drinks aswell.
Payment
Cash is no longer accepted. We prefer payment by cards. We accept credit cards like Visa, Euro/Mastercard, Maestro, Bankcard (and Swish for our Swedish clients)
Conditions and cancellation policy.
The applied amounts en percentages are to be paid by the guest. Special conditions are prior to the main cancellation conditions when applied.
Standard rate:
If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total costs of the reservation will be charged.
Non-refundable rate:
This special discount rate is non-refundable, if you choose to cancel or in case of a no show, the enitire amount of your booking will be charged.
Special conditions (groups*)
Between 7 and 0 day(s) before arrival: 100% from the total booking
Between 21 and 8 Days before arrival: 50 % from the total booking
More than 3 weeks before arrival: 25% from the total booking
(*) groups = Every booking of 3 or more rooms or 6 persons or more
Things left behind
Should you have forgotten anything in your room after your stay, please contact us on the day you checked out, we will ask if you want to collect the item or have it sent (at postage cost). If you forget something in our public areas (and we do not know to whom it belongs), we will keep it for a month before we donate it to charity.
